ummmmmm...

Logh are one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BANDS IN THE WORLD EVER... I followed the making of their new video for 'Death to My Home Town' on the creator, Kenny Lindström's blog... let's just say I had my doubts. now it's finished and I am still very undecided - it's nice in a very strange way, but about a million miles away from any image or feeling that Logh invokes in me... oh well, I know one lovely lady who will LOVE it. and you can make up your own mind...

I, for one, was never more excited about a computer game then when I discovered this...

today I wish...

that I took more photos.

I recently found a project called 100 Abandoned Houses (104?)by photographer Kevin Bauman, through Lizzy's blog... I think a similiar project could be made on the west route out of London... not sure it would be quite so nice though...

Owen Richards is a friend of friends... I've never met him myself, but I hope one day I will so I can shake his hand, or slap him on the back, or say something like 'nice job with the photos Owen'. have a look at his website here and his impressive flickr set too...

time for one more... Christopher Wilson is probably best known for his alliance with Band of Horses... I think he is pretty awesome, and not just for his photographic talent, but because he once swapped this photo with me, deer for deer...

thursday...

in reference to my inaugural posting (here)... i went with Richard to see Mr. Pallett in his Final Fantasy guise last night... the show was nothing short of amazing, in the setting of Union Chapel and with the unexpected and beautiful projections of Stephanie Comilang...

pre show ramblings included artistic adventures in the Tate, yummy food and the discovery that I had not been to the chapel before, did not know where it was, and that it certainly was not white

dry your eyes...

apologies for the lack of posting these past weeks... the dark turn in Home and Away has just been too darn exciting... other happenings include prostituting myself to the corporate world, self-indulgent Atlantans, html immersion, over exposure to household cleaning product fumes... plus the usual toddler related excursions

i've reclaimed my thursdays from Habitat (the 6 hrs remaining a week is plenty soul depreciation) in the hope i will find increased impetus to attend to my ever-lacking creative endeavours... time (and this blog) will tell...

ok, now for something of real interest, i.e. not involving me... Aurelia Lange commands my respect, not only for being one of the most beautiful, inspiring friends you could wish to find... to that you can add her ability to create amazing illustration over and over again and her ceaseless hard work and determination... i mean, with a few good friends, she has recently set up a design studio! i am simultaneously astounded and unsurprised - if anyone could do this, it's Aurelia Lange

sometimes girls like skate videos too...

there is a couple of skate videos i used to watched endlessly; namely First Broadcast and Waiting for the World... a few years later, after repeated recommendation (all from Arild) i discovered the band South, and re-discovered this song...

Paint The Silence - South

it's on the Franklin Stephens section. i tried to find it on You Tube and failed but found some Ryan/Marissa action instead...

why did you stop it Ryan? you can watch the whole First Broadcast video here though... http://blip.tv/file/1571512...i imagine none of you will

sweet leeks...

with inspiration from Luke's blog, the sprouting leeks/potatoes festering in the pantry, and Delia, i made a pretty tasty soup today.

also discovered once again that I can't draw for toffee... uh oh

i didn't imagine the word 'too' could be quite so beautiful as this...

goodbye Karl.

you can get 3 courses at Terre à Terre for £13 these days, Karl and I found this out after spending considerably more on 2. but it's nice to treat yourself, and often. Karl's reward of choice was a new suit from Jump the Gun... his mum will be proud as punch. this is a photo I took of Karl in the botannical gardens in Oslo a couple of years ago...

Karl should be ascending to the clouds right now. fly safe.

p.s. anyone up for bargain Terre à Terre, get in touch

what comes in threes?

good things is what...

one... i have completed Sally's website. both her and I are pretty darn amazing (i think you'll all agree), so reward us by looking here... sallyhancoxdotcodotuk

two... oh Chloe, oh my, oh... me!

Chloe got damn skills... view her flickr here! and the cat is Maki's neighbour Totoro - he's one cool cat.

three... my friend Karl is probably surrounded by middle-aged bespectacled rockers right now, whilst he waits for Devo to come on stage. this is good for him. but what's GREAT for me is that Karl comes to Brighton to see me tomorrow for a couple of days. we will mostly be buying vegetarian shoes and utilising the abundance of eating establishments catering to the vegan populous. well up for some of that.

hands up who was kind of disappointed with the fire shows in Queen's Park last night? ...hands up too who thought kids fighting in the dark with different coloured light sabers was pretty special... i count Ben and Hannah and me, so that makes three.

listening to Okkervil River this morning reminded me of how I love this film...

and I know I posted it multiple times on Facebook, but I love it so much I even bought it, and anyone who knows me must know that makes it pretty special... the premise of the film is a bit ridiculous, and you have to stick through the beginning on the film, but that just makes the end all the more poignant. or I am just a stupid romantic. or both. or whatever. sigh...

happy holiday

experiment #1

- beg/steal/borrow some rene aubry
- transfer to a portable music device
- go walking in the sun with said protable device playing said music

René Aubry - Plaisirs Damour - 01 - Salento 1.mp3 -

so... i've had this track for a while and played it to death... but still it lives on. i recently got my little mits on the album it's from (thanks Arild) and it's made me a very happy lady. i'm sure the experiment works equally well in other weather conditions too... yes! you're most welcome.

what the hey, have another...

Rene Aubry - Georges Brassens - Le vent.mp3 - Rene Aubry

i don't know what the etiquette is for stealing things off other people's blogs, but i just found this music video for Moray Mclaren by my talented friend Mr. David Wilson whilst on a blog trail... i think it's amazing/original/genius/perfect... and the illustration is just beautiful

Moray Mclaren - We Got Time from welovemusique on Vimeo.

and here's Tom Stoke's blog, where i found it...

right. i'm off for a day of leisure. i'm hoping it will involve a screen print exhibition, reading in cafes, parading children and sunshine

all good things...

i've just finished 2 images for Jez and Lizzie's new book 'We Are the Friction' (here is Frition #1, which will give you some idea of what it's all about)... i can't publish them in their fullness 'til the book is launched in July, but meanwhile, here's a preview...

the view of the downs from my window is also mostly hidden; by a mist impervious to the fact it's May Day. shouldn't it be sunshine and no work? well, i have a double date with a hoover and mop... but as we all know, good things come to those who wait, patience is a virtue and time is telling... hope the sun comes out later folks. fun anyone?

p.s... just researched public holidays and discovered 1st May is not a holiday here. also found out that it is in Norway and that they have 13 a year vs. the U.K.'s 8. i'm adding that to my pro/con list of living there someday.
